Jr. Racers Gear Up for Next Summit Shootout in Brainerd

The NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League will be well represented during the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd Int’l Raceway. During the weekend, a large contingent of Jr. drag racers from throughout the West Central Division will showcase the program in the NHRA Summit Racing National Shootout and large exhibition at the event.

Drivers competing in the National Shootout are Jason Lorenzini, Eli Johnson, Brenna Shannon, Trevor Scheopner, Lilly Strong, Hailey Jahr, Bodie Carlson, and Hayden Hjelle. The five competitors who earned a spot in the Shootout when they won titles at the Division 5 Jr. E.T. Finals will be traveling up to 13 hours to participate in the event – talk about dedication and commitment to the JDRL and showing a national audience what the program is all about!

But it won’t just be the National Shootout competitors representing the Jr. Dragster program at the event. Several other JDRL drivers will also be on-site showcasing their cars and introducing spectators to the world of Jr. drag racing: Ty Reynolds, Andy Flecher, Skylar Klassen, Evan Songas, Colin Songas, Brynn Reynolds, Brooklyn Hop, and Braxton Haugaard.

If you are attending the Lucas Oil Nationals, stop by the JDRL display to meet these drivers, or you can see them as part of the coverage on NHRA.tv and on the FOX broadcast Sunday.
